On behalf of the Australian Asian Association of Western Australia Incorporated, our CEO and my committee, I welcome you to our Website.
The Australian Asian Association of Western Australia is a highly regarded and well-respected community Service organisation, and I am honoured to serve as President and the first reference to business was to invite my executive committee to review the draft strategic plan to identify the Associations role over the next 10 years.
I see my term as President very much focused on our Strategic Plan to establish goals and directions which the Association should seek to achieve over the next 10 years, and examine the requirements of our members and clients and the needs of both newly-arrived and long-standing migrants.
These include, establishing improved services, business opportunities, increased networking and social events, communications, and improving benefits for our membership.
Another initiative was to install a Refugee placement program to encourage refugees to enter the workforce and build their resource base.
We will also identify options for future activities based on the requirements and needs, and the Association's potential resources, and develop options for Australia Asia House to become a “model multicultural community” centre which could provide a range of service options to the Association's members. |
