Janaki migrated to Australia (Tasmania) from Sri Lanka in mid 70s and moved to Perth in 1981.
Janaki is an Accountant by profession and served the State Public Service as an Auditor for over 18 years. During this period she functioned as a Principal Auditor for the Department of Education and the Office of the Auditor General. She also was the Manager, Audit and Assurance Services at the Government Employees Superannuation Board for seven years.
Currently she works for the private sector as the Manager, Governance Services. Her special areas of work include Governance Reviews, Risk Assessments, Management Reviews, Probity and Financial reviews.
Janaki has a keen interest in multiculturalism and has served in the executive committees of several ethnic organisations such as the AAA, WASLA and the Sri Lankan Buddhist Society. She is a founder member of the Sri Lankan Cultural Society, Sri Lankan Buddhist Society and WA Society for Peace, Unity and Human Rights for Sri Lanka (WASPUR).
